Father's Day Card

 

Hello everyone! 

It has been a long time since I last posted here! Well, hopefully this time I'll be able to keep  updating here as well. Today I am here to share a card I made for my father - for father's day!

 I am entering this card for Challenge #151 - Dads & Grandads by The Male Room blog. It has been a while since I last entered a challenge using my blog, I'm so excited, let's get started!

When making this card, I thought of diverting from my usual floral components and using a masculine touch! I chose the colors from the Navy uniform that my dad used when he was in service. 

I call my father by a lot of things, these names are just a handful of what I call him. I decided to die cut and layer two navy blue cutouts for each raised navy blue alphabets and for the golden ones there's an extra golden layer on top of the navy blue ones. I was surprised when I counted later, there were 85 alphabet die cuts in that background! 

I then layered the background onto a golden cardstock. Setting it aside, I also embossed four strips of embossed paper to create the embossed frame, cut the corners and joined them to create the frame onto a golden matting. then layered the earlier panel onto it!

I still felt like something was missing so I added four stones in the corners and used some gold paint onto the embossing to make it stand out. This was it for the front of the card, the whole thing was then stuck onto a white card panel.

You might be wondering where's the main sentiment, I ran out of space to put the sentiment when I put the card together. Following which, I came to the realization that I don't really need it.

For the inside of the card I simply layered the sentiment die onto a navy blue square and added stones to the four corners.

For the envelope I used simple diecut decoration with a sentiment, and it was made quickly with my envelope maker!

The back of the card was finished with a strip of embossed golden paper and a made with love.
