Lightning McQueen Card

Hello dear readers! I am back with something that I don't usually do, that is cutting elements by hand and then fussy cutting things that are going to be the center of my card. For this little fan of Lightning McQueen I couldn't help but attempt this style.

For the front of the card, I downloaded and printed out cliparts of Lighning McQueen to fussy cut, and edited the matching sentiment on Adobe Illustrator. Before starting out I was really clueless, as to what to put as the sentiment onto the card, " Wishing you a speedy recovery " was my first choice! Then my intelligent brother came to rescue with the idea of  " Wishing you a LIGHTNING recovery ".

Once everything was set I decided to mat black cardstock onto a white base and red on top of black. ( Matting is one of my favorite techniques because it provides a neat and clean finish!)
Where there are cars there has to be a road, so I cut out a road and placed it piece by piece. Once the road was done, I placed Mr. Lighning McQueen on to the road using foam tape to add dimension.

I took a good look at the card, it still felt really empty, even if I placed the sentiment. Then I reached for the net die that always saves me in such situations! And it looked perfect. Finally, I added in the sentiment using foam tape once again. If you have seen my previous makes you'd notice, all my cards have some blings but since this was a masculine card I couldn't add anything and shiny stones wouldn't fit in with the theme! So, I glued on some black sequins. It still felt empty so I decided to add in some thunder bolts, cut out from silver cardstock to go with the decoration and I was done with the front of the card!

For the inside I took my second McQueen printout, cut it out and layered it on top of gray net die cut. I cut out the sentiment " feel better soon " and layered it on top of black cardstock, then I raised it with some foam tape onto the card! Now the inside was complete!

Since the card already had too much going on, for the back I decided to add a strip of black cardstock and mat red cardstock onto it. Then placed the logo printout I had.

I wasn't really satisfied with the envelope but couldn't come up with any other ideas. For this I cut out a road to match the front of the card. Die cut a circle and mat it on to red circle to show the dots. Finally I added in the sentiment  "Just for you" matting it onto red cardstock.

Here's the final look at the card:

Thank you for reading through to the end! Your love and support encourages me to try new things all the time!

Love,
